Luc Villenueve Joins Red Hat as Red Hat Canada Country Leader
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source
solutions, today announced the appointment of Luc Villenueve as country
leader of Red Hat Canada. Based in Toronto, Villenueve will be
responsible for sales, client services, marketing, and the management of
all aspects of Red Hat's Canadian operation.
Villenueve brings more than 25 years of information technology sales and
management experience to Red Hat, where he aims to capitalize on
momentum for open source and open hybrid cloud solutions among Canadian
organizations. According to a September 2013 report issued by Canada's
Information and Communications Technology Council on the Canadian cloud
computing market, "the Canadian cloud economy contributes $4.6 billion
annually to Canadian GDP, and by 2018, this contribution will grow to
become $8.2 billion."1
Prior to Red Hat, Villenueve served as president of McAfee Canada, NCR
Europe, and NCR Canada. Additionally he spent five years as vice
president of sales at Sun Microsystems Canada. Earlier in his career,
Villenueve held progressive executive sales and marketing positions at
Pharmatrust, BCE, GE Capital ITS, and CNC Global Limited.
"We live in a world that is evolving faster than ever, driven by
consumer trends and behaviors, technology innovation and adoption,
business productivity, and channel reach," said Rick Akie, vice
president and general manager, North America sales, Red Hat. "I expect
Luc's leadership will be a significant asset to Red Hat as we continue
our leadership in providing open source software solutions and expand
both our global presence and open hybrid cloud vision."
