Annual conference features visionary thought leaders in open source
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source
solutions, today announced that its president and CEO, Jim Whitehurst,
will be delivering the opening keynote at this year's Open Business
Conference on April 29, 2013. Open Business Conference, formerly known
as Open Source Business Conference, is a two-day conference that through
keynotes and sessions will aim to cover the open source strategic
challenges enterprise IT managers are dealing with on a daily basis.
Hosted by Computerworld, this year's event hopes to be ground
zero for attendees to learn from experts and network with open source
peers, developers and sponsors. Whitehurst's opening keynote will
discuss the concept of "Open or Die?".
Whitehurst plans to discuss two paradigm shifts happening in technology
today. The first is around cloud computing and mobile with focus on
features and functionality. The second is centered around how innovation
happens. As technologically sophisticated users continue to influence
and drive the speed of innovation, Whitehurst will describe how
innovation is happening in open source. As these two paradigms are
closely inter-related, Whitehurst's address will highlight how
businesses must realize the technology they chose today will influence
how they innovate and do business. Businesses must choose the path that
will benefit them now and in the future. Whitehurst believes they must
open or die. His keynote will cover why he sees open source as the only
alternative for businesses looking to stay ahead of innovation.
